Abstract
Inventory is the most valuable asset in any organization or company. Accurate inventory management and maintenance should be applied, so that expenditure costs can be minimized. This inventory control research has been conducted at Tokin (M) Sdn. Bhd. Company, which is located in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur. Previous research shows that the current manual inventory control system used is inconsistent and unsystematic. This company is manufacturing-based and its main products are electronic assemblies. A system using the Materials Requirement Planning methodology has been developed and implemented in this particular company to help increase the efficiency of the inventory management. MRP is used to plan the product manufacturing schedule. The
system developed uses Visual Basic 6.0 software and is based on the Model Prototype Methodology.
