Abstract
Feature is dentification and recognition area challenging problem in the field of
pattern recognition. Moments and functions of moments have been extensively
employed as invariant in image analysis application and image in pattern recognition
due to their ability to provide invarianceness of the shape. Geometric Moment invariant
is a classical method in pattern recognition for extracting the unique features of the
images. Therefore, this study explores the effectiveness of Geometric Moment and
Tchebichef Moment in extracting insects features to obtain better features for
invarianceness in the feature extraction process.
