Abstract
CAD/CAM packages are used widely in product designing activities. These
packages will functioned as technical drawings editor that stores database for a
certain entity group such as junctions, lines and region. The drawing database then
can be analyzed and displayed for editing purposes. The problem crises is where the
database produced must be designed only in CAD/CAM packages. Therefore the
separate program is needed to convert other image file format to become a ASCII
text formatted database so that it can be viewed and thus enabling manipulation
within the CAD/CAM package.
The objective of this project is to develop a program that can perform image
database file format conversion becoming ASCII text formatted database which can
the be reassess by the CAD/CAM package. The database involvement only on lines
and junctions while the drawing on gray scale tiff images.
