Abstract
The maintenance of inventory is a common challenge to all organizations in any sector of the economy.A good inventory control system ensures that the amount of items are sufficient enough to make sure that the sales of the product are running well.Inventory management has been always impacted on the financial status of an organization. The main purpose of a good inventory control system is to minimize cost by efficiently and effectively monitor the step for stock to cash transaction, hence increasing the productivity and the profit of the organization. A study is conducted on an enterprise company called Face A Face Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology to understand how the current inventory control system operates. The main problem that is faced by the organization is that the value of stock in store does not tally with the value of stock written in the inventory form. This will create ambiguity for the mismatch of stock recorded and stock in shelf. Thus, a Web-Based Inventory and Point of Sale System for Face A Face Beauty is developed to assist this organization manage their stock more systematically. The softwares involved in the development of the system are Macromedia Dreamweaver MX for the design ofthe user interface, MySQL as the database and Hypertext Preprocessor(PHP) is used for the coding. It is hope that this web based system will promote inventory control efficiency together with the Point of Sale System in place.
