Abstract
For an organization, the Inventory Control System is crucial in managing inventory process. The main problem faced by this company is the ordering system implemented is inefficient and not systematic. In order to assist Perusahaan Sadur Timah Malaysia (PERSTIMA) Berhad for controlling their inventory, a web-based Inventory Control System is developed. This system is developed for the purpose of helping Perusahaan Sadur Timah Malaysia (PERSTIMA) Berhad to generate policy of optimal purchase order based on Master Schedule and Bill of Material. The main objective in developing this system is to solve the problem in controlling their inventory. The prototype Methodology is used to ensure the smooth flow in developing the system. There are several research studies conducted in inventory model in Lot Sizing Techniques such a Silver Meal Algorithm, Wagner Within Algorithm and Least Total Cost to identify the suitable model for obtaining the best ordering system. In developing this system, Dreamweaver MX is used as a web-based interface platform, Microsoft Access 2000 as the database system and Active Sever Page (ASP) as the application supporting for web developing. Other application used to support the graphical animation in web development is Macromedia Flash 5.
