Abstract
Automatic Storage / Retrieval System (AS/RS) is a good solution for
managing stock.and arrangement of storage location. Eng Huat Seng Enterprise is a
beverage distribution center in Melaka. It lacks of space to store the stock which is
increasing due to the vary favor of beverage production. A unit load AS/RS is
proposed to solve the problem. Therefore, this project is carried out to develop a
Control System of proposed AS/RS. The study focus on the topic of storage system
which is the way how to keep to stock after receiving goods and how to pick the
goods from the storage system for shipping. Thus, the Control System is developed
to run the above operation. This Control System is developed by using Microsoft
Visual Basic 6.0 and Microsoft Access 2003 and referring to the Waterfall
methodology. The control system is expected to ease the user in controlling the
Storage/Retrieval machine and assigning the location of rack. As a conclusion,
the new AS/RS can control the stock flow effectively and increase the storase
capacity.
