Enjin Teks-Kepada-Ucapan (Tis) Bagi Kes Bahasa Melayu

Abstract

A text-to-speech (ITS) engine is an engine that reads and convert text inputs into its equaivalent speech. These engines are vital in developing systems that utilise interfaces with speech features. However, conventional TTS engine do not focus on the linguistics features of the Malay language. as a result of this, these engines are not accurate when dealinh with Malay text. in a effort to deal with this problem, a research has been conducted into the development of a TTs engine that is designed for Malay text. This research has delved into Malay linguistics features, the common methods of developing a TTS engine and various technical aspects of converting text to speech. Based on those things, a methodology that encompasses syllable based processes have been used in this research. Moving on from there, the focus shifted to integrating conventional architecture for TTS engines with the said process. The result of that research was a TTs engine with a module based design framework. These findings have proved that a TTs engine specifically dealing with Malay text can be created. The design framework is general in nature and thus is well suited for use in future efforts to create a more robust and complete TTs engine for Malay text.
