Abstract
The use of internet technology comprehensively covers the various aspect of system development. It becomes a necessary desire in human daily life nowadays. The advancement of this technology leads the system consumption to be handled online. Due to this current technology, a web-based of Ethnobotany Kinabalu Database System was developed. The main focus in developing this system is as a searching tool for the researchers in getting complete information about ethnobotany plants. Through the system, searching the related information will be more effective and promptly. In designing the system, Unified Modeling Language is used as a method approach in representing the flow of the system while Rational Unified Process as a methodology used for the system to be developed in high quality standard. By using these techniques, the implementation of the system will meet the user requirement as well as follow the fixed specification. Meanwhile, Pre-Hypertext Processor is used as a programming language while MySQL as a database in storing all information about ethnobotany. Once all the specification are met, then EthnoBase will be developed as a medium in searching and finding a complete and latest information as well as a centre of education information in plant biotechnology work field.
