Abstract
Forecasting is an action taken to predict the future event with the help of information. Forecasting is very important because to predict the future it involve the decision making process.In this research forecasting is used to predict the production and export of Malaysian pineapple in future. There are two type of forecasting models were developed in this research which are production model and export model. During the development of these models,the pineapple production data and export data from January 1992 to December 2005 are used. The pineapple production rate and export rate for the next three months were predicted in this study. The neural network method was implemented in these forecasting by utilizing the Matlab software. The best forecasting model for pineapple's production is 4-8-3 and for pineapple's export is 7-7-3. The main purpose this study is to analyze pineapple's production and export in the future to fulfill the domestic and foreign country demand.
