Permodalan Rupabentuk Kawasan Tanah Dengan Menggunakan Kaedah Fractal

Abstract

Modelling a landscape by using Fractal techniques is one of the final year projects in Sarjana Muda Sains Komputer dan Sistem Maklumat majoring in Computer Graphics. The goal of this project is to generate and modelling a landscape that accurately represent natural surfaces. The problem is diflicult in part because the familiar Euclidean geometry of regular shapes, such as surfaces of revolution, does not capture well the irregular and less structured shapes found in nature, such as a boulder field, or surf washing onto a beach. Or in the other words, this project is to model the landscape(earth surface) in computer screen by using the fractal techniques. Fractal techniques is being using in this project because it can make the object that generated can be more realistic. When endeavoring to create a virtual world, one of the most important features is the physical surface of the world. Currently this is handled in different ways depending on the application in question. This allows us to use fractals to generate terrain which still looks like terrain, regardless of the scale in which it is displayed.
