Abstract
The Tourism Information System was developed to help users especially tourists in making decisions. One of the problems that tourists face is to choose their destination and lack opnfonnation on places. Due to that, the Johor Bahru Tourism Information System provides the function to search for destinations, places and also provides information on places of interest in Johor Bahru. The Johor Bahru Tourism Information System is developed using a combination of the ArcGIS software especially the ArcReader and ArcMap software to create the map, visual basic.net for the user interface and MS Access 2003 as the.system's database. ArcGIS is used to view and print the map together with the data that comes with it. It also contains a few simple functions that help users learn about the maps. Result from this project shows that users especially tourists are able to find the road or place that they want by using the search function that is provided in this system. As a conclusion, the Johor Bahru Tourism Information System application will help ease tourists a lot in making decisions and this may lead to an increase of tourists in this state.
