Abstract
Fingerprint recognition system is one of the vast expanding technology that helps the identification process to be much more easier, effective, cost saving and much more reliable. Generally, all of the finger print that need to be verified undergo several process retrieving of image, preliminary process that is consist of thinning, segmentation, and cleaning. The next and last process, minutiae recognition. Normalization is a process where all the images are transformed into one standard measure and orientation. In order to create precision, this critical phase must be handled out carefully so that the next phase (recognition process) will generate more accurate image output. Sub process in normalization are translation edge detection, curve fitting and rotation.
