Abstract
Pusat Kaunseling dan Kerjaya (PKK) Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Skudai is a part of UTM's initiative to help its students and staffs especially in academic and career. One of the services that is provided by PKK is counseling programme. Nevertheless, because of the difficulties faced by students and also the unsystematic management of appointment, the counseling programme did not get good response. Therefore, by using the technology of Hypertext Preprocessor (PHA) and MySQL database applied on Apache Server in environment on Windows operating system, Online System of Counseling Appointment at Pusat Kaunseling dan Kerjaya (PKK) UTM Skudai has been developed as an alternative to optimize the management of counseling appointment. This web-based system is used by UTM students and counselors and staffs of PKK. The main mechanisms provided by this system are viewing the appointment schedule and making counseling appointment based on desired date, time and counselor. Hopefully, this system will increase the number of students that make counseling appointment and be able to assist in accommodating the PKK's management.
