Abstract
Zip code recognition has been an attention among the intellectuals person years ago.Some recognition techniques have been researched and used for others fields or applications. Contour Sequence Momen (CSM) is not introduced in the domain of zip code recognition. Therefore the author implements a research on CSM in printed zip code recognition. Geometric Momen Invariant and Zernike Momen Invariant are also used in feature extraction for comparision in term of interclass and intraclass digit (numeral from 0 to 9).The pre-processing process that involves are thresholding segmentation and thinning are implemented before feature extraction processs. The results show that CSM gives good results for intraclass digits but not for interclass digit.
