Pembelajaran On-Line Sains KBSR Tahun 5 Dengan Pendekatan Multimedia: Menyiasat Bumi Dan Alam Semesta

Abstract

          This project has been carried out for the purpose of producing an on-line learning web page through the use of multimedia for Year 5 KBSR Science subject on the topic of "Menyiasat Bumi dan Alam Semesta".The web page presents data and information in the format of attractive and dynamic multimedia presentation. It covers in detail the syllabus for Year 5 KBSR Science subject on the topic of "Menyiasat Bumi dan Alam Semesta" as specified by the Malaysian Ministry of Education. Through this on-line learning prototype comes a new learning dimension that incorporates multimedia and the internet technology brought in Bahasa Malaysia. This study analyzed the effectiveness of using the web page as a teaching and learning tool besides analyzing the web page in the area of pedagogy, web page design and media distribution. The on-line learning package has been developed through the technique of Rapid Prototype and Cycle. The authoring of multimedia elements has been done using authoring software besides the coding of the program through.JavaScript and Active Server pages. The research process is done continuously through the analysis of other web pages, requirement analysis, readings interviews and visits to schools. The result is a web page that provides learning notes for four sub-topics from the chapter. It is also presented interactively through the segments of "Tahukah Anda, Fikirkan, Istilah Sains, Planetarium, Cuba Jawab, E-mail Cikgu and Sembang". This prototype is expected to ease the process of understanding the topic among the students and at the same time is able to attract their attention. In a nutshell, this web page will be able to help teachers and educationists in implementing an effective, conducive and exciting teaching and learning process.
