Abstract
As old saying goes "A picture is worth a thousand words", image plays an essential role in the information presentation.Nowadays, scientific,govermental and corporate informations system generate large amount of information routinely. According to estimation,information doubles for every 20 months in this world. Among these information, large portion of it are in the form of image. How do we efficiently store and retrieve image data? Thus,this project is developed to assist image retrieval and to tackle the difficulties faced.Titled Content-Based Image Retrieval Using RGB Color Model, the focus of this project is on digital image retrieval, the most difficult task in multimedia database retrieval.Textual descriptions are inadequate to represent an image because the complexity of the information embedded cannot be synthesized in a few key words. Image indexing technology using the visual content is used instead to improve the world of image retrieval.ln conclusion,there is a growing demand for retrieval systems using pictorial information for both commercial and cultural applications.
