Abstract
This project describes a car plate recognition application. There are several modules that are developed in this application such as the location and extraction process of car plate images from a digital camera, the segmentation and thinning process of characters, and the recognition of numerics and letters. However, this project only focuses on the recognition of letters. In this module, the location and extraction process, and the segmentation and thinning process are imagined to have been done on the characters. Every uppercase letter is recognized using Backpropagation Neural Network Classifier with Singular Value (SV) features as inputs.
