Visualisasi Model Rupa Bumi 3D Menggunakan Pendekatan 3-Tier: Kajian Terhadap Tier Pangkalan Data


Abstract

          Real time rendering of GIS data has attracted growing interest in the last few years. However interactive visualization of very large scale of data is still a main problem. Digital terrain are generally large files and need to be simplified to be reached and rendered efficiently. In particular, the development of a database is one of the underlying fundamentals that produce 3-tier systems that are powerful and more intuitive to use. Based on the problems arised, I propose a modeling technique using the objectrelational database model to design the database. This technique is chosen due to the recent demand where the choice of the database management system (DBMS) seemed to be between the relationa DBMS and the object-oriented DBMS. Furthermore, in object-relational model, it tries to combine the best of both worlds. This thesis also illustrates the result and also discusses the beneficial and the feasibility of this method based on the data used.
