Abstract
Nowadays, there are millions of websites in cyberspace. Everyday, billions of people surf
the internet to search for their desired information. To keep track on the users surfing
behavior in a website, the usage of log files were introduced. The usages of log files are
very popular among web developers and web administrators. It is important to help the
web administrator to make decisions, detect erors and make reports. But, because of the
static nature of the log file, it is often hard to extract the data from it without certain
technical knowledge. Instead, log file analyzing software must be used to extract the data,
thus raising operation costs and it is rather compliaated. The usage of a database to record
all the information clearly has its advantages. The dynamic nature of databases makes the
data easier to be read and manipulate, thus making it easier for the administrator to do an
analysis.
