Abstract
PostgreSQL is a Rel4itional Database Management System that has been used widespread nowadays because of its advantages like low cost, huge storage, many references and no license needed for the usage. Therefore, the development and management tools for this RDBMS is very little and about difficult to use. Because of that, the main objective of this project development is to create a development tools for this database. The implementation of this project is based on Waterfall Model as a project methodology with the use of Borland Delphi 7 as the development tools. The . tools that has been developed in this project is a SQL editor software, operated on Windows platform and communicate with a PostgreSQL databases on the server (UNIX) using the ODBC technology. The operation of this software is the software will send the SQL command that generated from the graphical user interface equipped by this software and send it over the network to the server via ODBC. The SQL commands that can be generate from this software is the Data Definition Language like CREATE, ALTER and DROP and also Data Manipulation Language Ike SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE. The advantages of this software is it can support user and developer that using PostgreSQL database for structuring and developing their databases more faster and easy with the use of graphical user interface that equip with this software from their Windows operating system.
