Visualisasi Struktur Protein

Abstract

Visualization of protein structure is a system designed to illustrate the structure of a protein in three dimensional forms. This program has a transformation feature that helps magnify the protein 'structure which enables us to analyze the structure from all angles. The sequence of amino acids that contained in the structure's information41; used as an input to complete the system. The visualization of protein structure project is developed to represent protein structure for explanation, learning and teaching. The development of this project involved research had been done towards existing molecule visualization software such as Rasmol, Cn3D, Swiss-PDBViewer, MolMol, MidasPlus and VMD. There are a few suitable algorithms for producing protein structure visualization such as Homology Modeling, Fold Recognition and Ab Initio Prediction. Ab Initio algorithm is applied to develop this project. The resulting of this project represents a protein structure in three dimensional and its attribute. Testing phase had been done to test the ability of the output by comparing a protein structure from this project with a protein structure from the software of Vega ZZ, VMD 1.8.2 and 3DExplorer. The testing concludes that this project is suitable for displaying protein structure. However, this project has a weakness that can be improved by using cylinder object to represent a bond for Ball and Stick model. Overall, this project succeeds completing one system for showing a structure of protein.
